In addition to blocking light and proving privacy, window treatments can also be used to create illusion. Take a look at this room with three small windows on one wall. Undressed, they’re awkward and look odd with the scale of the room.

As you can see in the “After” photo below, window treatments can go a long way.

We created a focal point above the bed by dressing around the windows to make them feel like they’re bigger than they actually are. Adding faux iron to look like metalwork adds to the dramatic statement of this wall. We carried the treatments throughout the room over the long narrow windows as well as the french doors.
