“I just moved into a new apartment. The landlord has installed navy blue carpet tiles in the bedroom. What color could I paint the walls that I can easily decorate with? Our bedroom set is like a cherry finish.”

The navy blue color can go with soft grays, warm neutrals taupes and creamy butter colors. You need to decide whether you like cool colors which are restful or warm colors which are cozy. Once you have decided that, then it’s a process of elimination.  

Here are examples of navy with warm colors or navy with cool colors. You should always order larger swatches and tape to the wall so you can see the color by day and by night. Light in the room also plays a big part of the color choice. If the room gets little natural light a creamy butter color maybe a perfect choice to warm up the space. However, if the room has high sun exposure you may want to cool the room down with a gray color. Hopefully, you can fine tune it make it sound great.
