James Bugg, Sr. was elected and served as Chairman of the International Franchise Association in 1994. Under his leadership, Jim changed the role of the IFA forever, by successfully passing the controversial concept of including franchisees, not just franchisors into the Association. 21,639 franchisees joined that first year increasing the membership more than 20-fold. Jim’s belief that Franchisees and Franchisors are all on the same team together, embodies the spirit of the IFA and franchising in the modern world.
