Color of the Year: Marsala

Patone Color of the Year

Marsala Interior DesignEvery year since 2000, the Pantone Color Institute has designated a color of the year – a color that would be popular in all aspects of life and design, from home decor, to food, technology, and fashion. The design team spends months combing the globe for the next big trend in color. The color specialists at Pantone have chosen “Marsala” as the Color of the Year for 2015! The rich, reddish brown will define consumers’ mood and design in 2015.

You can already find Marsala in handbags, clothing, cosmetics, and home décor. Marsala is a gorgeous, full-bodied color that can be used to make a statement on its own or as a strong accent to other colors in your home. Similar to the fortified wine giving “marsala” it’s name, the warm, reddish hue has a subtle red-brown base that give it a calming, earthy quality that allows it to be used virtually everywhere, from clothing to curtains.

Color of the Year Interior DesignBecause the color is so inviting, it is a natural fit for entertaining areas of your home, such as the kitchen or dining room. Marsala isn’t just for your walls – use it in accent pillows, small appliances, or table covers to create a warm and inviting home atmosphere.

How will you incorporate the color Marsala into your life?
